    International House

    International House is a non-profit, self-supporting residential and community-oriented program center located in the southeast foothills of the Berkeley Campus. Its mission is to foster intercultural respect and understanding among people throughout the world across cultural, economic, and ethnic lines. I-House provides nearly 600 students and scholars from the United States and around the world with an opportunity to live and learn together. I-House’s rich array of programs serves the residents, the campus and local community.


    We are in search of a unique candidate to join our dynamic Intercultural Leadership team. This position reports to the Director of CIL. The successful candidate will be an experienced technical leader with a high degree of knowledge in the field and recognized expertise in specific areas. Problem-solving frequently requires analysis of unique issues/problems without precedent and/or structure. May manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources. Functions with a high degree of autonomy. Serves as liaison with campus and community groups who have interest in the field of intercultural communication.

    The Education and Programs Specialist will join a small and dedicated team in NYC to help support and grow the Sentio Network (subsidiary of AFS International) and the suite of programs they run for participants 18 years and older. The candidate will be responsible primarily for supporting the Sentio Network in implementing the Global Competence Certificate (GCC), a blended learning framework for intercultural and global competence development (online and offline), as well as supporting member organizations (Members) in their implementation of exchange programs. The GCC welcomed its 1000th  participant late 2016 and will expand rapidly in the coming years. The Sentio network grew from 26 member organizations in 2013 to 47 in 2016.

    Sentio , Global Education Network, is a subsidiary of AFS  Intercultural Programs with a mission to provide intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create more just and peaceful world.     BERLITZ DEUTSCHLAND is looking for an experienced intercultural trainer based in the U.S. who has in-depth knowledge of Hawaiian culture.  The trainer would teach group seminars to managers responsible for projects in Hawaii, as well as offering relocation seminars to individual employees (and their families) who are relocating from other parts of the US to Hawaii.  Our client is in the retail field, so any knowledge of the retail industry would be helpful.

    IOR Global Services is an award-winning provider of global mobility services designed to advance employee effectiveness across cultures.  We are currently seeking a Manager of Global Talent Development to join our team.

    The Manager of Global Talent Development is responsible for collaborating with the Intercultural Program Manager and Director of Global Talent Development to ensure smooth intercultural program delivery at all stages. S/he also collaborates with the Director of Global Talent Development to recruit, maintain and develop IOR’s global trainer network, communicate with authorizers and clients, and assist with curriculum development.  S/he works on a daily basis with Intercultural Program Manager in setting up program logistics as well as performing other administrative functions. This position reports to the Director of Global Talent Development.


    Administer a portion of RMC / Direct Client programs  
    • Input authorizations, trainer and assignee information into IOR’s program management system and contractor database
    • Initiate and schedule programs with assignees and trainers / consultants
    • Manage Assessment Tools: IDI, GCI, TAP, Country Navigator, etc.
    • Prepare supplemental learning materials as needed
    • Ensure program closure and billing
    • Process client relocation and L&D reports
    Manage Global Training and Intercultural Consultant Network
    • Process new trainer / consultant inquiries from website and other sources
    • Source/recruit new trainers for new locations as needed
    • Manage trainer information in IRMA and ensure trainer database is current
    • Enhance communication between IOR & trainers to ensure quality of program delivery
    • Maintain and update program curricula as needed in collaboration with Director

    • Recruit for SMEs for Intercultural Programs (Intercultural Business Consultants and Daily Living Consultants)

    The Director, serves a critical need in managing a scope of work related to developing educational content and implementing assessment and assessment-related materials to onboard states and large districts that adopt parts of or the whole SAT Suite of Assessments.  The Director will report to the Senior Director, Training and Outreach, and work with a range of intra-departmental functions and across divisions.  This role will be responsible for leading strategy and vision for the state and district onboarding process, consistent with constituent needs, turning those needs into a comprehensive plan, and developing the requisite resources for our state and district partners to achieve maximum benefit from the SAT Suite of Assessments.  Additional responsibilities include ensuring effective implementation and rollout in conjunction with the College Board’s State and District Partnership (SDP) team. 

    The successful candidate will be dedicated to developing deep knowledge of customer and business requirements, demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills, and have successful experience interacting with a wide range of leadership and functional roles to drive work to a widely-recognized successful delivery.

    Facilitate student learning related to the Interpersonal Skills and Intercultural Knowledge embedded outcome in the University's Core Curriculum. Use the  Developmental Model of Intercultural Sensitivity (DMIS) model and AACU Intercultural Knowledge and Competence VALUE Rubric as a guide to facilitate student learning in the classroom, in study abroad programs and in co-curricular activities both on and off campus.  Coach/guide students studying abroad for a semester or academic year to help them reflect and learn from their intercultural experiences.  Assist faculty and staff who want to use the DMIS in the on-campus classroom or in study abroad.


    • Master's degree in a field relevant to the position.
    • One year of experience using the Developmental Model of Intercultural Sensitivity (DMIS), as well as the Intercultural Developmental Inventory (IDI), and conducting training for faculty and/or staff in a university setting.
    • Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and additional experience in lieu of degree.
    • Working knowledge of theory, research, and assessment specifically relating to intercultural or global learning and study abroad.
    • Working knowledge of or strong interest in best practices and innovations in experiential teaching and active learning through engagement.
    • Working knowledge of best practices and innovations in teaching and learning, as well as curriculum and instruction.

    The Center for Global Education and Experience (CGEE) operates Augsburg College campuses in Central America, Mexico, and Southern Africa. CGEE provides study abroad programming inspired by Paulo Freire’s philosophy of popular education, as well as other critical, experiential, feminist, indigenous, and postcolonial pedagogies that foment transformation.

    Augsburg CGEE is currently seeking an International Resident Assistant (IRA) for our Mexico location. The IRA will help promote a healthy living/learning environment for semester students & participants in short-term educational seminars, as well as to assist in the operation of all educational programs. Please note this is a stipend position.
