The Council on International Education Exchange (CIEE) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization committed to helping people acquire knowledge and develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world. CIEE is currently seeking an Academic Director of Intercultural Learning to develop, facilitate, and evaluate the high-impact intercultural learning for CIEE. Reporting to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Academic Director will design face-to-face and online intercultural learning experiences that enrich our study abroad programs and align with the CIEE Philosophy on Teaching & Learning. The Academic Director will also measure and report out on intercultural learning outcomes; develop and provide training and support for CIEE resident staff and instructors; and collaborate with teams across CIEE to achieve our organization’s strategic goals and to maximize student learning.
A Master’s degree in international education, intercultural communication, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, or related field is required along with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in design and delivery of intercultural and experiential learning. Knowledge of the Intercultural Development Continuum and a commitment to become an Intercultural Development Inventory Qualified Administrator is required. In-depth knowledge of and experience working with cultures and processes of U.S. academic institutions are required.
